I’ve been digging into how these newer deepfake models manage to look so realistic, especially things like Deepsukebe. I’m not talking about the ethical part right now — more about the tech side. I’ve played with a few older neural nets before and the results were always kind of blurry or too obviously stitched together. But lately I keep seeing examples that look absurdly convincing, almost like the model understands texture, lighting, and even tiny skin details. How did things get so advanced so quickly? Is it just bigger datasets or something more subtle going on?
