Is it possible to assemble a budget steampunk bow?

I’ve been thinking about putting together a steampunk bow for a local cosplay meetup, but I’m trying not to spend a fortune on it. Last year I built a simple prop pistol out of foam and some old clock parts, and it actually turned out better than I expected. Now I want to try something bigger. I was browsing some steampunk attire ideas just to get inspired by the overall style and details, and it made me wonder — do you think it’s possible to assemble a decent-looking steampunk bow on a budget? I’m not planning to use it for real archery, just as a prop with gears, brass accents, maybe leather wrapping. Some of the outfits look expensive, so I’m not sure if DIY plus a few small bought accessories would look convincing or just messy.
