Should a startup focus on logo design first or full brand identity?

The more I work on my startup project, the more I realize how many branding decisions there are early on. My co-founder and I recently started a small online tool, and at first we thought the only thing we needed was a quick logo. But once we began building the website and social pages, we noticed everything looked a bit random — the colors didn’t match, fonts kept changing, and the whole thing lacked personality. While researching the logo design cost for startups, I came across some explanations about branding package pricing and it made me wonder whether we approached things the wrong way. It seems like some businesses start with a full brand identity instead of just a logo. So now I’m curious about what others think. If you’re launching something new, is it smarter to invest in full branding from the start, or is focusing on a logo first still a reasonable approach?
